I hit the floor running at 7:30 AM, knowing I had a a lot of things to get ready but first had to get through Brayden's soccer game in the freezing cold!
Up and At Em
The weather had been calling for sunny and 70, up until three days before the party day. Then all of a sudden they were calling for wind, rain and highs in the mid 50's! Major turn of events there! Now I had to plan to have everything inside so the children and adults would not be cold and would have an enjoyable time. I spent most of the morning and the early afternoon setting up the hall, decorating and preparing the goodies for the party.
Brayden was super excited all day long, bouncing off the walls awaiting the arrival of more out of town guests to arrive and for his party to begin. He never left my side and insisted to be at the hall while I decorated the hall the entire time. I tried to send Taylor back to my house to take a nap, that backfired! She would not fall asleep...the one day I really needed the bugger to take a nap, she fought it. Luckily my in laws took her for a drive and she did catch a catnap for about 45 minutes before the party.
The Party
Willy Woo Woo arrived on time and began setting up his games, sno cone machine, cotton candy machine and ducks to pet outside. Shortly, after the set up guests began to arrive. The children were immediately greeted by Willy Woo Woo and his animal balloons. Each child and even parents were enjoying having animal balloons made for them. Swords, dogs, bunny rabbits and many other animals filled the tables and childrens arms as the party began. Children enjoyed playing the games that Willy Woo Woo brought and won prizes such as sugar sticks, mini ball games, glow in the dark bracelets and candy. I brought our roller coaster for the kids to play on, boy was that a hit! Just shows that kids never outgrow the famous roller coaster from Rollies;)
In the back room I set up four stations of my own:
Fortune Teller
Children enjoyed choosing a fortune cookie and meeting our fortune teller Kelly. Even parents had their fortunes told. A big thanks to Kelly for volunteering her time and adding that special touch to my kids party!
Tattoo Stand and Kissing Booth
Children enjoyed getting a crocodile tattoo from our tattoo artist, Dina. Even with a migraine my sister in law came through for me and managed the 30+ kids requesting a tattoo of their own. The kissing booth had a jar of Hersey Kisses that children were able to guess how many kisses were in the jar. A big thanks to my cousin Samantha for helping the kids submit their guesses and a big congratulations to Grace for winning the jar of yummy chocolates:)
Bean Bag Toss and Hungry Hippos
To make the bean bag toss game I used our boards from Texas Horseshoes. I think filled sand in ziploc bags and put them in old socks. The kids then tossed the bean bags in the holes on the board to win a spider ring prize. We also set up a large inflatable Hungry Hippos Game. This didn't last long as to somehow it was popped during the festivities:/
Willy Woo WOO Show
The show was a huge success! He was super funny and the children were rolling over with laughter. Brayden got to go up a few times and help assist with the show. Taylor on the other hand was a bit skeptical so she peered at him from around the corner, safely rested on a lap of her grandparents.
The Cake/Cupcakes
The cake was amazing! My cake lady Patricia McGinnis made it happen for me like always. I give her an idea and she runs with it:) The cake always tastes so good and no one can beat her prices with her quality! The cupcakes I made on my own. The were basic cupcakes with marshmallows added to the top. I found a free printablepopcorn wrapper to go around them which added the finishing touches. The kids thought they were super neat and added a nice touch to the end of the party.
Favor Bags
Each child was sent home with a goodie bag. Inside the good bag was clown droppings, a bag of the smallest animals, the most colorful fish, a lei, a freezie pop and freezie pop friend. I showed my mother the freezie pop friend, an idea I saw online, and she made it happen for me:) Thanks mom! The rest I came up with during my searches for the perfect carnival party.
I could blog forever and ever about their amazing birthday party! Definitely made memories that are going to last in their minds and with their friends. I have the best circle of friends and their children are amazing too! We are truely blessed. Thanks for everyone that was there to celebrate this special day with us!
